That has become the subtitle for dptutorial.com.

Historic visit

Within a week a historical moment for the Digital Photography Tutorial. The first visitor arrived via Google, using the search words ‘wide angle landscape photography’ resulting on the results list to a 5th position of the Landscape photography tips page.

Finding DPTutorial

Four days after the launch we are really in business! :)  Dptutorial can be found on Google, as well as Yahoo. Still not what masses of people are going to enter in the search box, but “dptutorial” is on page 3, and “Landscape photography tips” (with quotes…) is on a whopping page 5 in Google. Wow! ;)

dot eu (updated)

Italy’s election victor, Romano Prodi, has unveiled a plan to speed up the integration of a core group of European Union countries. He mentions Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium.

Not Great Britain, and not The Netherlands. To show that the Dutch based site dptutorial.com is part of the core of Europe, our team has claimed dptutorial.eu.
You are welcome mister Prodi.

… an update (April 17th, 13:22)

Mister Prodi now claims that it was a mistake and the translation of the reporter of The Sunday Times was wrong. He explicitly mentioned The Netherlands as one of the countries that should be participating. What a soap. We are going eu.

What a revelation

Remarkebly usefull. As you might have discovered, Digital Photography Tutorial is made with the excellent blogging tool Wordpress.

As our team is completely dutch, we don’t master the English language into perfection. Checking spelling meant checking word by word in a dictionary or getting it into Word. So we were very happy to see the spelling check of Google Toolbar functioning in the edit screen of Wordpress.

However no grammatical and sure no semantic check. So you’ll probably still see some awkward glitches here and there. But the Google Toolbar turned out to be remarkably useful.

Digital Photography Tutorial takes off

Today, april 14th 2006, Digital Photography Tutorial (dptutorial.com) is launched by Paul, Anne and Fabian to share their ideas about digital photography to the world.

The masses are turning to digital cameras. Especially the digital SLR cameras are becoming exceptionally widespread. But better cameras and more megapixels don’t mean that automaticly the result will be a good photograph. Its not only the camera, but how you (the photographer) approach the subject and it’s environment, and if he can get his vision into the picture.  For many photographers a good photo is rare and happens by accident. Photography is a skill as well as an art.

Dptutorial.com is intended for people who want to get more out of their photography. Not only for the more experienced photographers, but also for beginners. It will give you hints for what might make an interesting photo and get out of a scene what is in it. It is not too much concerned with the technique of the hardware and settings, but about using it too get better photos. Making better photos doesn’t have to stop when the shutter is closed after pressing the release button. In the digital age the possibilities only begin there.
